With over 26 years in the restaurant industry, Gary started his journey as a dishwasher before graduating from a vocational culinary high school and attending the Culinary Institute of America. His experience spans kitchens in Boston, Boca Raton, Las Vegas, and California, and he was featured in the first season of Cutthroat Kitchen on the Food Network. Gary brings a deep love for food, people, and animals—especially dogs—to everything he creates.
At Unity Cooking, he focuses on preparing thoughtful meals for private events and crafting fresh, healthy gourmet dog food that reflects the same care he puts into every dish. His hands-on approach and commitment to small-scale service make every client feel like family.
A 2004 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Gary received comprehensive training in all aspects of culinary arts—including a strong focus on nutrition science, which was a required part of the associate degree curriculum. His coursework in Nutrition covered a broad range of topics essential for creating health-conscious, balanced meals:
• Fundamentals of Nutrition Science: Macronutrients, micronutrients, digestion, and metabolism
• Nutrition & Health: Dietary strategies for wellness, managing food allergies, and supporting chronic conditions
• Recipe & Menu Modification: Adapting dishes for special diets without sacrificing flavor
• Culinary Techniques for Health: Cooking methods that preserve nutrients and use whole, natural ingredients
• Industry Applications: Menu design for wellness-focused food service and understanding FDA nutrition labeling
This training continues to inform Chef Gary’s approach to food—where flavor, wellness, and ingredient integrity go hand-in-hand.
